Jayce Trordon, the Human Rogue

Shortly after finishing the drawing for Roland the Half Orc, I was offered other commissions for characters. This one I really seemed to struggle with and took me longer than I would have liked. I just wasn't happy with his stance and how I made him look. Got there in the end, and fairly pleased with how he looks. Here's his bio:-

"Jayce Trordon is a 5ft11 human rogue. Hazel eyes and short scruffy red hair, he trained himself in the arts of swordmanship and the use of daggers and a short bow. On his right hand he has the mark of the Raven Queen, but instead of it being a tattoo like most, this is a birthmark, he was born with it. Maybe his family has a connection, whether its willingly or not. Though very charismatic, and fairly law abiding, his main goal is to hunt down the killer of his 4 brothers, hence his years of training. The killer left him with a scar on each cheek, so that Jayce would always remember the killer of his family."

As mentioned above, he's armed with various weapons, his rapier, two daggers (one strapped onto each of his legs for quick access) and his short bow made from strong black mahogany. The reason for the fleur de lis symbol on his studded leather armour is due to a need for more colour in the picture. Although it is well known in French history, it has been used in a number of situations including religious, artistic, political and symbolic. More colour was needed and this was a popular medieval symbol, it seemed appropriate.

Also, a little nod to the Princess Bride on this one. As I was drawing the rapier on Jayce's hip, I thought on Inigo Montoya and his want for revenge with the six-fingered man, hence why the scar is along his cheek bone. It seemed rather apt since Jayce wants to seek revenge as well.
